Commercial Vehicle Counterterrorism Training Program (CVCTP)
Up one levelThe program is designed to train law enforcement officers responsible for the enforcement of commercial vehicles traveling on the Nation’s highways on how large commercial vehicles can be used to commit an act of terrorism, either as a weapon of mass destruction or transporting materials to further a terrorist cause. The CVCTP is unique in its design, recognizing that security of our highways is accomplished by a cooperative effort of Federal, State, and Local officers. This program is conducted as a Center Advanced Training Program and is available as an export.

Instructors
Instructors in the Commercial Vehicle Counterterrorism Training Program (CVCTP) are current and former Federal, State, Local and Military law enforcement officers with substantial experience as criminal investigators, state troopers and explosive ordinance disposal personnel, who have served in the area of commercial vehicle enforcement.
Prerequisites for Attendance
Attendance is open to Federal, State and Local law enforcement officers and agents who are assigned duties related to the enforcement of commercial motor vehicles.

National Integration Center (NIC) (formerly the Office of Grants and Training)
The Commercial Vehicle Counterterrorism Training Program (CVCTP) has been approved by the National Integration Center (NIC) (formerly the Office of Grants and Training) and is added to the list of Eligible Federal Training Courses. For more information check with your State Homeland Security Office or the NIC.

This training program can be exported to various sites around the country; with tuition costs being determined by the actual location of the training. Additional Information
Travel
Official travel days are Sunday and Friday.
Special Equipment Needs
Students will need to bring extra clothes for climbing around vehicles during inspections.
