California Area Office

Nursing

The California Area Indian Health Service is committed to maintaining and improving the quality of health care services to our programs. This nursing section of the website is for advancing and strengthening the role, function and development of the nursing service administration within the California tribal and urban health care delivery settings.

Our mission is to provide nursing leadership and consultation in the promotion of quality health care. Through collaboration and active participation in the development of policy and national nursing standards of care, we support the health of American Indian/Alaska Native people. In support of the national Indian Health Service mission, the California Area provides assistance to area tribal and urban ambulatory clinics and community health programs in adapting to changes in legislation, regulation and health care standards.
