Drug Law Enforcement Training Program (DLETP)

Up one level Drug Law Enforcement Training Program (DLETP)

The DLETP is a 2 ½ day program intended to provide law enforcement officers with the most current information regarding enforcement strategies and responses to a variety of drug crimes that may occur in their jurisdictions. The investigation and prosecution of drug crimes by patrol, interdiction and drug task force officers is the focus of the program. The development of enforcement strategies to counter criminal trafficking patterns are presented and discussed.

Tuition and Cost

Tuition is free. Students will be responsible for travel, meals and lodging.

 

Eligibility

Training locations denoted with a “*” indicate programs set aside for rural law enforcement officers.  Preference for admission into these programs is given to non-federal law enforcement officers or other emergency responders working in rural areas. “Rural” is defined as any area outside of a metropolitan statistical area (MSA), as defined by the Office of Management and Budget; or any jurisdiction inside of a MSA located in a county, borough, parish or land under the jurisdiction of an Indian Tribe with a population of no more than 50,000. Please visit Eligibility Requirement for more information. Non-rural applicants may be admitted on a space-available basis beginning approximately 35 days prior to the program’s start date.

Prerequisites for Attendance

Qualified applicants must be full-time, sworn law enforcement peace officers with little or no drug enforcement training or experience.
