Stress Management, Conflict Resolution and Managing Abnormal Behavior Workshop

This a 2-day training course provides concepts and skills about building resilience, reducing risk and stress management related to law enforcement careers.  In addition, this course describes the specific law enforcement challenges and stressors, provides information on the basic stress response and its relationship to resilience and risk, and presents methods of building resilience and mitigating the negative effects of stress in order to improve personal well- being and job performance.

The course is designed to provide the student with the knowledge to manage and stabilize potentially volatile and/or dangerous situations through the application of conflict management strategies.  It also examines basic human behavior that may be classified as abnormal, and it also differentiates between mental disorders, physical and organic causes as it relates to abnormal behavior.

Who Should Attend

This training is open to full time, sworn law enforcement officers.

Cost

TUITION-FREE.  Attendees are responsible for all travel, lodging and meal expenses.

(1) Go to https://registration.fletc.gov to create an account or login to an existing account;

(2) Once logged in select “View/Register for Courses” under Basic User Functions at the left of the page;

(3) Select desired course and location and click on “search”; and

(4) Course options will populate below the box and then select “apply” to register for desired course.
