Become a Volunteer

The BLM in California recruits volunteers to assist with the completion of unfunded conservation work that would otherwise go undone. The program provides individuals and community organizations an opportunity to be actively involved in the administration of public lands.

How to Volunteer

To become a volunteer, complete and submit a Volunteer Application (Form 1114-10) to the office nearest you to help match skills and interest with volunteer opportunities.

Volunteer Program Forms

Once you are matched to a volunteer opportunity, a Volunteer Services Agreement for Natural Resources Agencies (Individuals or Groups) (Form OF301A, revised 09/2010) is signed by you and your volunteer supervisor.

The BLM has 16 Field Offices in California. Our location map shows the jurisdiction of each of the Field Offices, as well as address, telephone number, and name of the Field Manager for each office.

Who is eligible

Anyone over the age of 18 years can volunteer. Youths under the age of 18 must volunteer with a parent/guardian or be a part of an organized youth group such as a school, civic, or church group.  Youth volunteers must have written parental or guardian consent.
