The Evaluation Analysis Branch (EAB)

Up one level The Evaluation Analysis Branch (EAB)

The Evaluation Analysis Branch (EAB) is responsible for designing survey and evaluation instruments, collecting data, and providing analytical results that will ensure the continuing validity and quality of FLETC training programs.

On a more comprehensive level, EAB’s evaluation and analysis products support curriculum development and revision, and are a “best practice” component for program accreditation. EAB monitors and evaluates a majority of its programs through the FLETC Automated Testing and Evaluation System (FATES). The FATES is a multi-faceted system that encompasses three levels of evaluation from the Kirkpatrick model of educational evaluation. The three levels (and measures) are: Level I (reaction), Level II (learning), and Level III (behavior).

The Student Feedback System (SFS) is the FATES mechanism for Level I evaluation; the Automated Testing System (ATS) and the Practical Exercise Assessment System (PEAS) deal with Level II; and the Continuous Validation Process (CVP) satisfies Level III.

Mission

Use proven educational methodologies, research, and evaluation criteria to continuously improve, and validate FLETC courses, training programs, curricula and student achievement.
