We’re constantly looking for ways to improve OnGuardOnline.gov, so we really appreciate the feedback we get from visitors. We can’t always respond to every request, but we wanted to take a moment today to address some questions that we’ve seen more than once.

Change the Font Size

We sometimes hear from visitors who think the text on the site is either too big or too small. We’ve chosen a text size that we think most people will like, but if you don’t, there’s an easy fix. You can make the text larger by holding the Ctrl key and pressing plus (+) on your keyboard. Or make it smaller by holding the Ctrl key and pressing minus (-). To reset it to the default size, hold the Ctrl key and press zero (0). This works on any site, not just ours.

Downloadable Resources

We also get requests to provide more PDFs and other files that can be downloaded.

If an article on our site is available as a PDF (in a booklet or brochure, for example), you’ll see a picture of it to the right of the article, with an option to download the PDF. If the booklet or brochure is currently in print, you’ll also see an option to order free copies.

If the article you want to use isn’t available as a PDF, you have several options:

• You can print a stylized version of the article directly from the site. Look for the print icon in the right hand corner just above the title. Feel free to print as many copies as you need and use them as handouts at meetings or in the classroom.
• You also can print by going to your browser’s file menu and selecting “Print.” In fact, if you’d like to see a preview first, you can choose “Print Preview.”
• If you have Adobe Acrobat, you can turn any one of our articles into a PDF. Click on the print icon, and then in the print dialogue box, select “Adobe PDF” as your printer.
• You can share the page with others by using the email icon or the share button.

Using Our Videos and Games

In our media center, you’ll find videos, tutorials, and games on topics like phishing, cyberbullying, computer security, and wireless networks. We often get requests from people who want to use these media items in a presentation or on their own sites. These games and videos are free and in the public domain. We encourage you to download them, share them, or embed them on your websites and blogs. Each media item has a “Download” tab beneath it, so you can save the file for your own use.
