Archeological Resources Protection Training Program (ARPTP)

Up one level Archeological Resources Protection Training Program (ARPTP)

The ARPTP was developed by the FLETC together with the U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, and the National Park Service. This premier class provides training in archeological investigation and the subsequent prosecution of the crimes.

During the program, students participate in integrated lectures and discussions. Advanced and specialized training is offered to both law enforcement officers and the archeologists in the same classroom setting. The participants are separated in order to provide law enforcement training to the archeologists and archeological training to the law enforcement officers. The class cumulates in a 12 hour practical exercise (PE) where law enforcement officers and archeologist work as a team to investigate and document a crime scene.
