Funding Updates

R01 Electronic Application Required :: February 5, 2007 As of February 5, 2007, a new electronic application process will replace the PHS-398. The New Process requires that R01 applications must: be submitted in response to a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), aka RFA or PA use the electronic SF-424 application form Applicants who want to submit what were formally termed "unsolicited" or "investigator-initiated" applications must submit them in response to the Parent Announcement for R01 applications. NHLBI Limited Access Data Sets Web Site (LADS)
The NHLBI LADS Web site has been redesigned with several new features including search and sort capabilities and a style consistent with the NHLBI site.

New Limited Access Data Sets available:

• Asthma Clinical Research Network: Dose of Inhaled Corticosteroids with Equisystemic Effects (ACRN: DICE)
  The goal of this study was to establish a reliable method to evaluate systemic bioavailability and to determine equisystemic effects (microgram dose producing equal systemic cortisol suppression) in inhaled corticosteroids (ICS);
  
  
• Asthma Clinical Research Network: Measuring Inhaled Corticosteroid Efficacy (ACRN: MICE)
  The purpose of this study was to compare the relative beneficial and systemic effects in a dose-response relationship for 2 ICSs.

Comprehensive Sickle Cell Centers
The Comprehensive Sickle Cell Centers focus on multi-disciplinary programs of basic, applied, and clinical research, and to include relevant service activities in diagnosis, counseling, and education concerning sickle cell disease and related disorders.

National Tuberculosis Curriculum Consortium (NTCC)
The mission of the NTCC is to instill knowledge, skills, and appropriate attitudes in the management and control of active and latent TB among undergraduate and graduate students.
