What is the Consumer Voice?

The National Consumer Voice for Quality Long-Term Care (formerly NCCNHR):

  • Advocates for public policies that support quality care and life;
  • Empowers and educates consumers and families;
  • Trains and supports individuals and groups to advocate for and empower consumers; and
  • Promotes the critical role of direct-care workers and best practices in quality-care delivery

 

Resident

The Consumer Voice believes residents have a right to high-quality care and a high quality of life.

Family Member

The Consumer Voice believes family members play an important role in advocating for quality care and quality of life for their loves ones who are receiving long-term care, services and supports.

Advocate

The Consumer Voice keeps its members and the public informed about current long-term care issues through regular updates and action alerts.  We author policy resolutions, mobilize members, advocate for consumers on capitol hill and support citizen advocates in their work in the states.

Ombudsman

Long-Term Care Ombudsmen are dedicated to enhancing the lives of long-term care residents by:

  • Advocating for residents rights and quality care;
  • Educating consumers and providers;
  • Resolving residents' complaints; and
  • Providing information to the public
