Making a difference through policy research
The AIDS Policy Research Center (APRC) is a CAPS collaboration which ensures that cutting-edge research conducted at UCSF and other institutions informs policy and funding decisions. With over a dozen projects currently underway, the APRC plays a crucial role in combating HIV/AIDS domestically and abroad.
CAPS science at the 2012 U.S. Conference on AIDS
Sponsored by the National Minority AIDS Council, the USCA took place September 30–October 3 in Las Vegas. CAPS and UCSF's Center of Excellence for Transgender Health hosted two seminars, a workshop, and an Mpowerment Project affinity session.
CAPS's Gutierrez-Mock honored as LGBT leader
Luis Gutierrez-Mock, who works for CAPS and the UCSF Center of Excellence for Transgender Health, was recognized for his leadership in the movement for transgender rights and empowerment with an invitation from Vice President Biden to recognize LGBT leaders.
CAPS director weighs in on PrEP
CAPS Director Steve Morin contributed to an analysis of the use of antiretroviral therapy to prevent HIV -- also known as PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) -- in the U.S. in a recent Reuters story.
