Environmental Justice

Environmental Justice is the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, or income with respect to the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies. FSA incorporates environmental justice considerations as part of its NEPA compliance

By considering environmental justice in NEPA, FSA ensures (1) equal access to program benefits for all populations and (2) that its programs do not disproportionately adversely impact a low income or minority population.

FSA continues to strive to improve its environmental justice compliance through training and better use and interpretation of available data and other agency resources.
