Coast Guard Meritorious Team Award for the 2002 Design and Web Support Team

The Commandant of the Coast Guard takes pleasure in presenting the COAST GUARD MERITORIOUS TEAM COMMENDATION TO COAST GUARD AUXILIARY NATIONAL TESTING CENTER

for service as set forth in the following:

CITATION:

"For meritorious service from January 1999 to January 2004 while serving as a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary National Testing Center. The team members spent countless hours over the past five years meticulously and professionally executing numerous details leading to the success of five websites, and several programs and services that can be found on these sites. The 2002 launch of the Chief Director, Auxiliary website required the team to develop new programs which resulted in the production of the Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxiliary ribbon checker, a manual database from which all manuals used by the Auxiliary could be accessed, and a PowerPoint database with over 700 PowerPoint for viewing and downloading covering numerous aspects of training for the Auxiliary. Additionally, the team created a news feed program that allows the Chief Director to inform 25,000 Auxiliary members of items of interest. Through the team's hard work and professionalism, the site has attracted over 40.000 viewers per month. The team exhibited true Team Coast Guard spirit by developing a Director of Auxiliary site for both the Seventh and First Southern Districts. Exhibiting excellent planning and development skills, the team launched the National Training Department web site, increasing the opportunity for all members of the Auxiliary to view and download training material. The team worked side by side to develop the Director of Auxiliary (DIRAUX) West website, on which they expertly developed the online Qualification Examiner request, resulting in a dramatic reduction of paperwork, time and costs. Continuing with the vision of creating a better format for training, they created an online classroom that an owed instructors and students to interact online with live audio and video feeds, launching their first online class 72 hours later. Within two weeks, the first AUXDATA, Navigation Rules, and Air Observer classes were conducted with graduating students.

The dedication, pride, and professionalism displayed by National Auxiliary Testing Center team reflect credit upon themselves, their team, the United States Coast Guard and the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary."
