    •  Congressmen, Can someone please explain what is going on with the VA Education Benefit program? Obviously the VA cannot afford to hire more personnel to process education claims when they are busy spending over $6M on conferences. Now we have veterans who have waited over 60 days to receive their living stipend (MHA), are receiving eviction notices and worse. The intent of the Post 9/11 GI Bill was to allow veterans to attend college full time without the need to concurrently work full time in order to pay the bills. Everyone knows we have more veterans returning from deployments overseas and leaving the military. With the economy in its current state, veterans are turning to education to make themselves more competitive. Now we have the VRAP program adding to the list of programs already available for veterans. It is KNOWN that there is an increase in veterans taking advantage of these programs. It is also known that the school year typically starts in September. And yet, here we are again with veteran students not receiving their benefits for over two months. This is completely unacceptable. I encourage you to look at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Post 9/11 GI Bill Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/gibillEducation?ref=ts&fref=ts) and the condescending manner they are treating our veterans "Yes. We really do read your comments. You’re waiting for your money...the rent is due..." Again, completely unacceptable. I ask for someone to intervene on behalf of the many veterans who in some cases are about to be dropped from their classes for the VA's failure to pay their tuition due to the delay in processing. Other veterans have voluntarily dropped out of school in order to work two jobs to pay the rent. This is NOT the way for the VA to fulfill the promise of education to this nations veterans. I am saddened and disgusted with the callous nature that the VA has disregarded the concern and the need of the veteran community.

    • This may have been posted by others but I have to say this: I have been waiting 2 years for a DENOVA Review which is an appeal of a ruling to be reviewed by a "Board". I found out that the "BOARD" is actually 1 person.? This is NUTS!!!

    •  The VA will not implement 38 US 1803 and this committee will not even acknowledge receiving questions about this, much less respond.
