This unique product includes an uncirculated James Buchanan Presidential $1 Coin and the Liberty Bronze Medal bearing a likeness of the popular First Spouse Gold Coin. The coin and medal are held in a durable plastic card enhanced with beautiful representations of the President’s portrait, with issuance information on the back.

The Presidential $1 Coin Act of 2005 contains a provision to provide continuity of the First Spouse Gold Coin Program during those times in which a President served without a spouse.  This provision applies to James Buchanan, who was never married.

The bronze medal is a likeness of the James Buchanan’s Liberty Gold Coin bearing a reproduction of the Liberty Head Quarter Eagle designed by Christian Gobrecht minted and issued from 1840 through 1907.
