NCI Budget Information

NCI Budget Information icon The fiscal year (FY) 2012 President's budget request calls for continued momentum in cancer research with a 2% increase over the NCI's FY 2010 budget. The Recovery Act of 2009 and slight increases in NCI’s FY 2009 and 2010 annual appropriations provided a welcomed investment in cancer research after several years of flat funding. Since calling for the doubling of the NIH budget in 1998, the cohesive voice of informed advocates has raised awareness about the value of the nation’s investment in biomedical research.
