These KML files are prototype files to help us gauge demand and gather requirements in order to build a product that is useful to our users.  These KML files are compatible with tools such as Google Earth and Google Maps.

We are reviewing the comments we have received and are evaluating how to best implement a tool that allows you to access KMLs. We expect to have an update as to how we plan to implement the production and release of KMLs at the end of 2012/early 2013.

Please send all comments and questions to: geo.tiger@census.gov.
