Accountant - GS-510-5/7/9. Accountants classify and evaluate financial data; record transactions in financial records; prepare and analyze financial statements, records, and reports; and supervise the maintenance of inmate accounts.

Qualifications: GS-5: must have successfully completed a 4-year college degree in a related field, such as business administration, finance, or public administration, that included 24 semester hours in accounting and auditing subjects. GS-7: must meet GS-5 requirements plus 1 year of experience in professional accounting or auditing work. GS-9: must meet GS-5 requirements plus 2 years of experience in professional accounting operations.
