Special Projects

The National Archives holds an amazing array of treasures, and our conservation staff prepares them for research and exhibit and makes sure they are protected for the future. Take a virtual behind-the-scenes tour to learn more about our work: from the re-encasement of the ancient Magna Carta to the preservation of a landmark World War II documentary.

Charters of Freedom

The Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights are known collectively as the Charters of Freedom. Learn how the Charters of Freedom were made ready for the 21st Century.
