Charters of Freedom
The Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights are known collectively as the Charters of Freedom. In 2001, a team of experts removed the nation’s founding documents from display to begin a two-year conservation treatment and reseal them in new state-of-the-art encasements.
