Out of the Dark: Bringing Films to Light at the National ArchivesCharters of Freedom
The Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights are known collectively as the Charters of Freedom. In 2001, a team of experts removed the nation’s founding documents from display to begin a two-year conservation treatment and reseal them in new state-of-the-art encasements.
