FBI Jobs—In Minneapolis and Nationwide

The FBI has it all:

  • The challenge of fighting crime and terrorism—and saving lives by preventing attacks from ever happening.
  • The stimulation of being asked to think, to analyze, to solve.
  • The comfort of belonging to a small "family-like" government agency, with excellent benefits.
  • The very real satisfactions of public service—just talk to anyone who works here.

Working for the FBI is way more than a job.

Please consider joining us. We are looking for a range of bright, talented Americans to fill both special agent and non-agent positions—from intelligence analysts to cyber experts, from scientists to accountants, from translators to engineers.

Special Agents

If you are interested in applying for a position as an FBI agent, you must meet some preliminary requirements:

  • You must be a U.S. citizen no younger than 23, and you must not have reached the age of 37 by the time you are hired.
  • You must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited, four-year resident program at a college or university.
  • Prior to employment, you must complete a rigorous application process. Successful completion of a written test and an interview are followed by a thorough background investigation which includes credit and arrest checks, interviews of associates, contacts with personal and business references, an interview of past employers and neighbors, and verification of educational achievements. Drug testing, a polygraph examination, and a physical examination are also required. The completed background investigation is then assessed for a final decision on hiring.
