    •  The Federal Voting Assistance Program, DoD has made the voting process easier than ever for Americans serving overseas, Pam Mitchell, the program’s acting director, says. The website includes a tab for each state’s deadlines for registering to vote and casting absentee ballots. It also has online registration and absentee ballot assistance, and includes a mobile app.

    • I live in a state, Texas that has decided to inconvenience absentee voters. If you are not going to be available to vote during balloting times, the State wants to mail your ballot to you somewhere outside of your county of residence! Never mind if you are traveling... Fortunately this election cycle I am going to be traveling outside the U.S. and can use the FPCA Absentee Ballot Request to get past what only can be described as a stupid Texas rule. If the intent is really to get out the vote, Texas needs to rethink its absentee voter regulations

  5. Voters,

  8. True or False: I can’t vote if I’m deployed.

False - Of course, you can vote while deployed. If you are registered to vote while deployed and you don’t get your state ballot, you can use the SF 186 (Federal Write-In Ballot). Remember to send it at least 30 days before Nov. 6 (by Oct. 3 is a safe bet).
  9. True or False: Military spouses and dependents can use military absentee voting forms.

True — Your spouse and your child (as long as the child will be 18 years old Nov. 6, 2012) can use the same SF 76 (Federal Postcard Application) and SF ...
186 (Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot) as you do. They can even go on-line and register using the same website: www.fvap.gov. If your child is away at college, they can still use those forms and website.

s, turnout among 18-29 year olds increased by more than 100% over the 2000 and 2004 primary levels. In many states, turnout doubled, tripled, and even quadrupled. Further, young voters made up a bigger portion of the electorate in virtually every state.
