Codex Committee on Fats and Oils
Host Government: Malaysia

The Codex Committee on Fats and Oils is responsible for elaborating standards for fats and oils of animal, vegetable, and marine origin including margarine and olive oil.

Fat and Oil standards adopted by the Codex Alimentarius Commission are located in Volume 8 of the Codex Alimentarius, Fats and Oils and Related Products.

The next meeting of the Codex Committee on Fats and Oils is tentatively scheduled for February 25–March 1, 2013 in Malaysia.

The Committee is working on:

Development of a Standard for Fish Oils
Proposed Draft Amendment to the Standard for Named Vegetable Oils; Rice Bran Oil
