Alan Guttmacher, M.D., is the Deputy Director of the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), helping oversee the institute's efforts in advancing genome research, integrating the benefits of genome research into health care, and exploring the ethical, legal, and social implications of human genomics. Dr. Guttmacher also serves as the Director of the Office of Policy, Communications, and Education at the NHGRI. In that role, he directs the institute's health affairs, public policy, communications, community outreach and public education functions.

M.K. Holohan is a Senior Health Policy Analyst at the National Human Genome Research Institute at the National Institutes of Health. Her primary focus is on legislation and government relations, and policy issues related to genetic information, including nondiscrimination issues, regulation and privacy considerations. Prior to joining the NIH, Ms. Holohan worked as an attorney in a litigation practice, and also has extensive experience in clinical research in oncology and HIV/AIDS.
