Medicare Eligibility Tool Help

This section of medicare.gov helps you figure out your Medicare eligibility and enrollment status, and has links to other resources.

My Eligibility

In this section, you’ll need to answer questions so we can give you information specific to your situation. This information might help you figure out your Medicare enrollment and eligibility, but Medicare laws and regulations can change. Call Social Security at 1-800-772-1213 or visit your local Social Security office for a final determination of your enrollment or eligibility status. TTY users should call 1-800-325-0778.

If you’re not a U.S. citizen or a lawfully admitted alien who has lived in the U.S. continuously for five years, call Social Security at 1-800-772-1213 for your Medicare enrollment and eligibility information.

General Enrollment and Eligibility

In this section, you’ll learn about Medicare—what it is, what the different parts are, who is eligible, how to enroll, and when to enroll. It also has tabs where you can find an Initial Enrollment Period Package, information on your premium and where you may get help to pay costs, information on special enrollment periods, what to do if you need to change your address, and what you need to know about your Medicare card.
