GS from FPM 9902, Subchapter S4

To achieve Steps 2, 3, and 4:

  • 52 calendar weeks, or
  • 260 days creditable service (use for intermittent or on call)
  • Allow 80 hours LWOP (2 weeks)

 

To achieve Steps 5, 6, and 7:

  • 104 calendar weeks, or
  • 520 days creditable service (use for intermittent or on call)
  • Allow 160 hours LWOP (4 weeks)

 

To achieve Steps 8, 9, and 10:

  • 156 calendar weeks, or
  • 780 days creditable service (use for intermittent or on call)
  • Allow 240 hours LWOP (6 weeks)

 

Wage Grade (WG) from FPM 5321, Subchapter 8 (The BEP operates under a KG and WE wage scales)

 

To achieve Step 2:

  • 26 calendar weeks, or
  • 130 days creditable service (use for intermittent or on call)
  • Allow 40 hours LWOP (1 week)

 

To achieve Step 3:

  • 78 calendar weeks, or
  • 390 days creditable service (use for intermittent or on call)

 

Allow 120 hours LWOP (3 weeks)

To achieve Steps 4 and 5:

  • 104 calendar weeks, or
  • 520 days creditable service (use for intermittent or on call)
  • Allow 160 hours LWOP (4 weeks)

Note: Leave granted for injury for which compensation is payable is creditable toward within grade. GS temporaries do not get WGIs. Time counts if converted to permanent (if at the same or lower grade). If a break in service is less than 52 weeks, time counts in waiting period.
