What is a Podcast?

A podcast is a series of audio files published on the web and usually downloaded onto computers or portable listening devices, such as iPods or other players. Podcast files are usually MP3 types that can be played on most players. Read more about podcasting from www.HowTo.gov.

How Do I Listen to a Podcast on My Computer?

To listen to a podcast, you will need media player or music player software installed on your computer. Depending on your computer’s functionality, you can download free players.

To subscribe to a podcast feed on your computer, you will need to download podcasting software. There are many free or commercial podcasting applications available for download.

How Do I Listen to NIJ Podcast Feeds in my Podcast Software?

Copy our URL: http://www.nij.gov/multimedia/nij-podcast-main.xml. Paste it into your podcast application. For example, on Juice, you would select the Subscriptions menu, click "Add New Feed,” and paste the address into the dialog box.

Subscribing saves you the hassle of having to manually check for new podcasts.
