Training: Macintosh Forensics
As Macintosh computers rise in popularity, training for law enforcement in recovering evidence seized from Macintosh computers is becoming increasingly important. NIJ funds training for law enforcement in the use of Mac Marshal, a digital forensics tool for use on Macintosh computers.
In addition to training on Mac Marshal, the course includes general training in Mac OS X computer forensics.
Take the Course
The developer of Mac Marshal, ATC-NY (a subsidiary of Architecture Technology Corporation), will provide training to state and local law enforcement at no cost to participants. ATC-NY will hold between 10 and 12 one-day training classes for state and local law enforcement between fall 2010 and fall 2011.

Host this Course
Contact ATC-NY at 617-257-1957, ext. 7119. Host requirements include:
- A facility large enough to accommodate 25–30 students at desks/tables, with room at the front for an instructor.
- A computer projector and screen.
- Electricity source for each student.
If Macintosh computers are available for attendee use, computer requirements include Mac OS X 10.4 or newer with DVD drive. If Macintosh computers are not available at the training facility, attendees will need to bring their own computers.
