Upcoming training and events to be announced soon.

Victim Assistance Training Online is a basic victim advocacy web-based training program that offers victim service providers and allied professionals the opportunity to acquire the basic skills and knowledge they need to better assist victims of crime.

Identity Theft Victim Assistance Online Training: Supporting Victims' Financial and Emotional Recovery is a user-friendly e-learning tool that will teach victim service professionals and allied professionals knowledge and skills to more effectively serve victims of identity theft and assist with their financial and emotional recovery.

OVC TTAC is the gateway to targeted training and technical assistance (TTA) for victim service providers and allied professionals who serve crime victims. Our aim is building the capacity of the field in three primary ways:
  • Providing easily accessible TTA to support professional development, enhance services to the community, and expand outreach to underserved victims of crime.

  • Assessing the needs of key constituencies through surveys, stakeholder discussions, and other feedback, and identifying resources to meet those needs.

  • Evaluating the effectiveness of the TTA activities and using the data to make evidence-based decisions in the development of future offerings.
On October 9, 2012, OVC held a Web Forum discussion with guest hosts Maureen Lowell and Dr. Linda Williams on Collaborative Educational Models Benefiting Victims and Providers.

OVC released Multidisciplinary Response to Crime Victims With Disabilities—the product of a 3-year project by two grantees to adapt and replicate their innovative, multidisciplinary response models. The replication guides in this set discuss how adult protective services, human services agencies, law enforcement, disability and Deaf advocates, self-advocates, and others can work together to ensure equal and effective access to the criminal justice system for persons with disabilities.

OVC announces the 2013 National Crime Victims' Rights Week theme and colors. The theme for NCVRW 2013—to be observed April 21–27—is "New Challenges. New Solutions." and the theme colors are midnight blue and orange. The theme colors are presented in full-color (CMYK) builds. Comparable spot colors and RBG values are available as well. Sign up for the NCVRW mailing list to receive future information about NCVRW, including a free Resource Guide and poster!
