DNA Analyst Training Program

The DNA Analyst Training Program is designed to assist in forensic DNA analysis training in accordance with the DNA Advisory Board Quality Assurance Standards for Forensic DNA Testing. DNA Technical Leaders can use this program for new analyst and remedial training. Practicing DNA analysts will find the material useful as a refresher and resource guide.

The training program consists of three parts:

  1. A theoretical foundation that provides the knowledge base for practical application of DNA analysis methods through self-paced online courses.
  2. A Laboratory Training Manual for use by trainers and trainees toward the demonstration of competency in practical DNA analysis skills and abilities.
  3. An optional testing component that assesses the student's comprehension of the theoretical knowledge.
