Partnership: Salzburg Global Seminar
On October 19-23, 2011, IMLS will host a seminar of the topic, Libraries and Museums in an Era of Participatory Culture, in partnership with the Salzburg Global Seminar in Austria. The seminar will convene international leaders in libraries and museums to explore and debate the changing roles and responsibilities of libraries and museums in society.

IMLS is again partnering with the Sundance Institute, the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the National Endowment for the Arts in the second year of Film Forward, a cultural exchange initiative. Museums and libraries were a big part of the initiative's inaugural-year success.
