Assistant Secretary Deb Delisle to Discuss Education Reform at National Association of State Boards of Education 2012 Annual Conference

Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education Deb Delisle will give a keynote address, followed by a question-and-answer session, on Thursday, Oct. 11, at the National Association of State Boards of Education 2012 annual conference in Chicago. The three-day conference, titled “The Future is Now…What’s Next?” will focus on evidence-based policymaking and innovation as the history and the future of education reform.

Delisle will highlight the need for education reform that meets the needs of today’s students and prepares them for the 21st century global economy. Additionally, she will give an overview of the Education Department’s efforts to support school turnaround and the $4 billion in Title I School Improvement Grants awarded to states to turn around their lowest-performing schools.
