Whether you are a crime victim, a victim advocate, a law enforcement officer, a legislator, a student, or a member of the general public, you can depend on OVC products and online services:

  • Consumer Rights Screening Tool for Domestic Violence Advocates and Lawyers (PDF 1.5 mb)—This screening tool provides an overview of consumer issues survivors of domestic violence face and discusses how to identify these issues in the course of one’s client work.

  • CrimeSolutions.gov—a searchable online database of evidence-based programs covering a range of justice-related topics, including victim assistance programs; corrections; courts; crime prevention; substance abuse; juveniles; law enforcement; and technology and forensics. The site is a tool to understand, access and integrate scientific evidence about programs into programmatic and policy decisions.

  • crimevictims.gov—use this resource to access OVC’s Public Service Announcements and check out the resources on children exposed to violence.

  • Cyberbullying Resources for Victim Service Providers—Podcasts, fact sheets, and training to help victim service providers respond to cyberbullying. The resources are offered by the National Crime Prevention Council, through funding from OVC.

  • Gallery—this database of multimedia products promoting crime victims’ rights and services includes posters from National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) Resource Guides, photos and biographies of award recipients, promotional web banners, and photos of NCVRW and NCVRW prelude events.

  • HELP for Victim Service Providers Web Forum—this message board is a tool for victim service providers and allied professionals to share ideas, suggestions, and recommendations concerning promising and best practices and victim issues. Users can receive e-mail notifications about new discussions and topics.

  • National Calendar of Crime Victim Assistance-Related Events—this is an online, interactive tool that connects service providers with a national database of crime victim-related conferences, trainings, ceremonies, and other events. Users can locate and receive e-mail notifications of local events and add their own events to the calendar.

  • National Crime Victims’ Rights Week—a site that provides up-to-date information about this annual observance. Visit the National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) weblet for information about the current NCVRW Resource Guide, the National Crime Victims’ Service Awards, prelude event details, and how to stay informed about NCVRW activities.

  • Online Directory of Crime Victim Services—this resource is a searchable database of services provided by not-for-profit programs and public agencies. Visit now and add your organization to the Directory or sign up to receive alerts when new programs are added.

  • Multimedia—view a number products and videos created by OVC, many of which have received special recognition and awards. Screensavers are available for download.

  • Restitution Collection Toolkit—Existing sample forms, policies, protocols, and practices from the field to aid in the collection of crime victim restitution at the state and local levels. This online toolkit was developed by the National Center for Victims of Crime with funding from OVC.

  • The Training Center—the OVC TTAC Training Center helps the victim services field stay abreast of current issues by providing information on upcoming trainings and conferences, as well as offering a variety of online and downloadable trainings.

  • The Victim Oral History Project—this site provides documentation of the victims’ rights movement through more than 55 interviews, photographs, video, audio, and other documents of significance to the victim assistance field. The entire collection is housed "on-site" at the University of Akron’s library. An online version is also available to the public with a smaller resolution video playback screen.
