In accordance with the Telework Enhancement Act of 2010 (the Act), the Office of Personnel Management works with the Executive agencies to issue an annual report to Congress. This report provides information about the overall number of participating teleworkers in the Federal Government as reported by the agencies. The report offers a year-to-year snapshot of Federal telework, provides an assessment of agency goals relating to telework, and addresses patterns, trends and other information about Federal telework programs. The first report required under the new Act is due to Congress by June 2012. The "Annual Reports to Congress" section provides every telework report issued by OPM to Congress from 2002 to 2009 (i.e., prior to the signing of the Act on December 9, 2010).

In addition, other agencies have explored various aspects of telework, including assessments from the Government Accountability Office, research by the General Services Administration, and security issues as detailed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
