Shoreline Construction Permits

Obtaining a permit for small shoreline construction projects is now faster thanks to TVA’s new online application process. Smaller projects include shoreline stabilization and items like boat docks and piers. Learn how to apply here.

Shoreline Stabilization

Reservoir property owners can help reduce shoreline erosion through well-designed landscaping plans. Read fact sheets on shoreline stabilization and access the Native Plant Selector, an extensive database that includes information and color photos of plants suitable for specific locations such as the water’s edge.

Navigation Aids

There are many different traffic signs along the Tennessee River waterway to help boaters navigate safely. These vary depending on whether they are located along commercial navigation or secondary channels of the Tennessee River or on tributary (storage) reservoirs.

A complete listing of the navigation aids can be found on the navigation aids information page.

Navigation aids that are damaged, missing or out of place can be reported online.
