Modigliani: An Anniversary Exhibition

December 11, 1983-April 22, 1984 (extended from March 18)

Overview: 25 paintings, 26 drawings, and 2 sculptures by Amedeo Modigliani from the National Gallery's Chester Dale collection and from private collections were assembled by Eliza Rathbone, with the assistance of Laura Coyle of the department of 20th-century art. The exhibition marked the 100th anniversary of Modigliani's birth in 1884.
