National Commission on Indian Trust Administration and Reform




As part of President Obama's commitment to fulfilling this nation's trust responsibilities to Native Americans, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar today named five prominent American Indians to a commission that will undertake a forward-looking, comprehensive evaluation of Interior's trust management of nearly $4 billion in Native American trust funds.

Public Meeting - September 13/14, 2012, Bismarck, ND

The Office of the Secretary is announcing the Secretarial Commission on Indian Trust Administration and Reform will hold a public meeting September  13/14, 2012.  Members of the public who wish to attend should respond via RSVP by September 7, 2012, to: trustcommission@ios.doi.gov to ensure adequate meeting packets will be made available. The Commission will also host a public facilitated discussion the afternoon of September 12, 2012, on the Fort Berthold Reservation, and a youth outreach session the evening of September 13, 2012, at the United Tribes Technical College.

Public Webinar Meeting - August 13, 2012

The Office of the Secretary is announcing the Secretarial Commission on Indian Trust Administration and Reform will hold a public webinar meeting on August 13, 2012.  The Commission's webinar meeting will begin at 2:00 p.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. Eastern time.  Attendance is open to the public.  Members of the public who wish to attend must RSVP by August 10, 2012. Instructions for joining the webinar will be e-mailed after registration occurs.

Public Meeting - June 11/12, 2012, Albuquerque, NM

The Office of the Secretary is announcing the Secretarial Commission on Indian Trust Administration and Reform will hold a public meeting on June 11/12, 2012.  Attendance is open to the public.  Members of the public who wish to attend must RSVP by June 7, 2012, to ensure proper room set up by sending an e-mail to trustcommission@ios.doi.gov.  Instructions for entering a federal building will be e-mailed after RSVP occurs. Tribal Outreach Letter

The Commission is soliciting your ideas regarding the Department's administration and management of trust assets and carrying out its fiduciary trust responsibility for individual Indian and tribes.
