Havre Field Office

Havre Field Office land status map--click for a larger image
The Havre Field Office includes 395,000 acres of federal surface and over 850,000 acres of federal mineral estate in six counties of northcentral Montana.  Grazing and natural gas production from these lands are significant to local economies.

These lands also offer diverse recreational opportunities including hunting, fishing, hiking, watching wildlife, and canoeing the Marias River.  Significant cultural, archaeological, and paleontological resources have also been recorded on these lands.  Rising 3,000 feet above the surrounding prairie, the Sweet Grass Hills were an important landmark in the days of the buffalo. For hikers, the view from the hills recalls that past.
