. . .to make a difference on your public lands. You can develop new skills, meet people who share your interests, and have fun while accomplishing something that could have far-reaching effects. You can work individually or as part of team, on long or short-term projects.
Every year, volunteers assist help complete numerous projects that would otherwise go undone due to staffing and budget constraints. The BLM depends on volunteers to act as campground hosts and staff visitor centers. Volunteer assistance is also welcomed in disciplines such as:

Your volunteer experience may help you build skills for the future or even help you decide what your future will be. Students seeking internship credits are prime candidates, but there is something for just about anyone who is interested.
Who is eligible?
Any U.S. citizen over the age of 18 years can volunteer. Youths under the age of 18 must volunteer with a parent/guardian or be part of an organized youth group such as a school, civic, or church group. They must also have written parental or guardian consent.
How do I apply?
You can apply for a specific position through volunteer.gov/gov and/or complete and submit a Volunteer Application (Form 1114-10) to the office nearest you to match your skills and interests with volunteer opportunities.
