Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Technology Acquisition Center (TAC) intends to issue the 2012 VA Innovation Initiative (VAi2) Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) under RFP # VA118-12-R-0253. The BAA will be available on or about March 30, 2012. This BAA is an expression of interest only and does not commit the Government to make an award or pay white paper or proposal preparation costs generated in response to this announcement. No contract award(s) will be made unless funds are available.



This BAA invites interested offerors to contribute innovative ideas in the specific areas of: Women's Health; Veterans Engagement in PTSD Treatment; Mobile Applications for eBenefits; and Prevention and Care of Pressure Ulcers. The specific areas of interest will be detailed in the BAA. The BAA allows for multiple awards. Each award will have a period of performance of up to twenty-four months. VA intends to maximize use of Firm Fixed Price (FFP) type contracts resulting from this BAA. However, offerors may propose alternate contract types providing that the alternative is supported in the proposal.



An industry day will be scheduled via webinar shortly after release of the BAA. Information will be provided for each area of interest and questions from industry will be addressed. As it becomes available, additional industry day information will be posted at www.fbo.gov and www.va.gov/vai2.
