The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is soliciting proposals from qualified Service-Disabled Veteran-owned (SDVOSB) firms under North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code 541611 for a project entitled "Logistics Support for the AHRQ Annual Meeting and National Advisory Council (NAC)." AHRQ's mission is to improve the safety, quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of healthcare for all Americans. To accomplish this goal, the Agency regularly sponsors a variety of different meetings to facilitate its work; seek input on research priorities and other key needs as seen by stakeholders, such as clinicians, policymakers, and others; and convey AHRQ research findings, products, and tools to a variety of audiences. The primary purpose of this meeting is to highlight AHRQ's achievements in improving healthcare for all Americans. In showcasing the best work AHRQ has to offer, it is AHRQ's goal to promote synergies between AHRQ's work, our stakeholders, and the public to achieve greater quality healthcare. The National Advisory Council for Healthcare Research and Quality (NAC) was established in accordance with Section 921 (now Section 931) of the Public Health Service Act ( 42 U.S.c. 299 c). In accordance with its statutory mandate, the Council is to advise the Secretary of the Department of Health and Humans Services and the Director, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), on matters related to actions of the Agency to enhance the quality, improve the outcomes, reduce the costs of health care services, improve access to such series through scientific research and promote improvements in clinical practice and in the organization, financing, and delivery of health care services. The Council is composed of a wide variety of individuals and organizations that provide unparalleled guidance and expertise in helping AHRQ shape its goals and priorities. In addition, a portion of the meeting is devoted to comments from the public to solicit input and comments to help shape the AHRQ research agenda. In support of these activities, AHRQ is soliciting for a contractor to provide technical, logistical, analytical and, administrative support services for the AHRQ annual meeting and the NAC.  It is anticipated that 1 contract will be awarded for a base period of 1 year with 4 one year options.  Award is anticipated by April 2011.  It is the offerors responsibility to monitor this site for any subsequent amendments. All responsible Service-Disabled Veteran-owned (SDVOSB) firms may submit a proposal which will be evaluated by AHRQ.
