Freedom of Information Act The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. § 552 gives any person the right to access records maintained by a Federal agency except those records protected from disclosure by one or more of the nine (9) FOIA exemptions or three (3) law enforcement record exclusions.
