TSP Account Management
For more information about accessing your account, account security, and receiving statements, visit Managing Your Account.

If you have both a civilian and a uniformed services account, you need to know how certain TSP features and rules apply to you.

Account Number

Your TSP account number is assigned by the TSP and cannot be changed. If you have both a civilian and a uniformed services account, the TSP will use the same account number for both.

User ID

You can create a user ID to use instead of your account number when you access your accounts. You can go into each of your accounts and assign them identical user IDs.

Web Password

Web passwords are randomly generated by computer when each TSP account is opened. Once you receive your Web passwords, you may change either or both of them to passwords of your choice.

If you change one or both to make the two passwords the same, you will be able to access both accounts on this website with the same password. When you go into My Account, you will be asked which account — civilian or uniformed services — you wish to access.

ThriftLine Personal Identification Number (PIN)

ThriftLine PINs are randomly generated by computer when each TSP account is opened. Once you have your ThriftLine PINs, you may change either or both of them to PINs of your choice.

If you change one or both to make the two PINs the same, you will be able to access both accounts using the ThriftLine with the same PIN. When you enter your PIN on the ThriftLine, the recording will ask you which account — civilian or uniformed services — you wish to access.
