Learn How to Stay Safe During and After an Earthquake

Surviving an earthquake and reducing its health impact requires preparation, planning, and practice. Far in advance, you can gather emergency supplies, identify and reduce possible hazards in your home or place of business, and practice what to do during and after an earthquake. Learning what actions to take can help you, your family, and your colleagues to remain safe and healthy in earthquake can safe lives.

Participate in a ShakeOut

The Great Central U.S. ShakeOut  

On October 20th, 2011, 8.6 million people participated in the Great California ShakeOut, practicing Drop, Cover, and Hold On and other aspects of family, school, and organizational emergency plans. The ShakeOut has spread to other areas, including British Columbia, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, the Central U.S., Utah, and Guam.

Participate to learn more about how to protect yourself, your loved ones, and others around you in the event of an earthquake.
