The National Institute of Corrections and the Urban Institute are pleased to solicit applications from California counties interested in receiving Transition from Jail to Community (TJC) Initiative technical assistance to facilitate implementation of a comprehensive approach to jail-to-community transition in order to meet the unique challenges resulting from California's criminal justice realignment. Designed to enhance public safety and improve reintegration outcomes, the TJC Initiative is a model approach requiring jails and local communities to work collaboratively to address the reentry challenges faced by individuals returning from jail. TJC assistance is available for up to two California jurisdictions over a two-year period beginning in December 2012. Selected jurisdictions receive targeted technical assistance and evaluation support (no funds will be transferred to the selected jurisdictions). The full announcement, including details on the assistance and all information necessary to apply, is available now at www.jailtransition.com.

 Application deadline:  November 8, 2012
