Summary of requests to the Center for Financing, Access, and Cost Trends (CFACT) for information to inform health initiatives and of the assistance provided from June 2009.

Office of Health Reform, HHS Estimates of choice of physicians among adults ages 18-64 with employment-related insurance, 2002 and 2006 6/09 Steven Hill Provided estimates of choice of physicians as well as estimates on whether it was easy or a problem to get a physician of choice (that they were "happy with"). Data were analyzed by poverty level, race/ethnicity measures, and gender.
Office of Health Reform, HHS Estimates of types of plans offered at private establishments 6/09 Jessica Vistnes Provided estimates on plan offerings at private establishments by firm size, wage quartile, and census division. Plan offerings included HMOs, fee-for-service, and PPO-type plans both with and without gatekeepers.
Office of Health Reform, HHS Estimates of per capita health care costs and utilization for people with diabetes 6/09 Joel Cohen Provided data on expenditures by condition posted annually on the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality Web site. The information can be found at http://meps.ahrq.gov/mepsweb/data_stats/quick_tables_results.jsp?component=1&subcomponent=0&tableSeries=2&year=-1&SearchMethod=1&Action=Search. Additionally, a paper was provided on "Spending And Service Use Among People With the Fifteen Most Costly Medical Conditions, 1997," by Joel Cohen in Health Affairs.
Office of Health Reform, HHS Estimates of percent of private establishments with two-thirds or more employees age 50 and over 6/09 Jessica Vistnes Provided estimates of percent of private establishments with two-thirds or more employees age 50 and over and their premium levels (for both single and family policies), by firm size.
Office of Health Reform, HHS Estimates of number of private-sector establishments offering health insurance 6/09 Jessica Vistnes Estimates of number of private-sector establishments offering health insurance, by firm size, as well as percent offering health insurance.
Office of Health Reform, HHS Estimates of percent of household income spent on premiums and out of pocket for non-elderly families with middle income (200-399% FPL) 6/09 Didem Bernard Provided estimates of percent of household income spent on premium and out-of-pocket expenses for non-elderly families (HIEU) with middle income (200-399% FPL), by State (30 States included). Estimates of percent of households spending 10% or more on premiums and out-of-pocket expenses were provided as well. Other tables were provided with estimates on out-of-pocket spending by geographic division and region. National estimates were included in all tables.

Congressional Research Service Estimates on percent of single and family enrollees with a premium greater than the FEHBP cap 6/09 Jim Branscome

Provided estimates of percentages of single enrollees and families with premiums greater than the FEHBP cap, as well as estimates increasing the FEHBP caps by 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 35%, 40%, and 45%.
Congressional Research Service Number of uninsured at a given point in time by poverty level as measured using (1) CPS units and (2) HIEU units 6/09 Julie Hudson Provided existing tables of uninsured at time of first interview by poverty levels using (1) CPS units and (2) HIEU units (provided by Joel Cohen).
