Current Portfolio/Responsibilities:
Direct the liver disease-related research portfolio of the Division of Digestive Diseases and Nutrition, NIDDK including direct supervision of the ongoing clinical trials, consortia and databases in liver and biliary diseases. Coordinate liver disease research across the NIH and Federal Agencies under the Action Plan for Liver Diseases Research and the Liver Subcommittee of the Digestive Diseases Interagency Coordinating Committee (DDICC). Monitor and promote progress in liver and biliary disease research as outlined in the Action Plan which was developed under the supervision of the Director.

As a senior investigator in the intramural Liver Diseases Branch, conduct intramural

clinical research on liver disease. Currently, principal investigator on 5 clinical research

protocols and co-investigator on 9 others. Hold 7 INDs on therapies of liver disease.
