Let's face it, no guy is ever happy to have erectile dysfunction – or ED. But men can lower their risk.
Hi, I'm Dr. Griffin Rodgers, bringing you "Healthy Moments" from the NIH. I'm the Director of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.
Erectile dysfunction is often caused by diseases such as diabetes, kidney disease, and heart disease. In fact, ED is the reason some men first discover they have one of these diseases.
If you are concerned about ED, you should
- get regular check ups to make sure that you don't have any underlying medical condition.
- get regular exercise and maintain a healthy weight.
- and quit smoking.
If you’re experiencing ED, tell your doctor. And if you have diabetes, it's very important to keep your blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol levels in check.
And for more information, visit our website at NIDDK, or MyMajicDC.com . This is Dr. Griffin Rodgers. Join me next week for more "Healthy Moments."
