Did you know that African Americans are nearly four times as likely as Caucasians to develop kidney disease?

Hi, I’m Dr. Griffin Rodgers, bringing you Healthy Moments from the NIH. I’m the Director of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.

As a community, we can do more to spread the word about kidney disease and decrease the chances that our friends and family will be the next in line.

The Kidney Sundays Tool Kit, designed for faith-based groups, has everything you need to know to get started, including:

  • a fact sheet on kidney disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure
  • a brochure and flyer on kidney disease
  • health conversation talking points for faith leaders
  • and healthy eating ideas
