Kristina Ingeborg Rother, M.D.

Education / Previous Training and Experience:
After receiving my medical degree with "Magna Cum Laude" from the Albert-Ludwigs-University, Freiburg, Germany, I completed my residency training in Pediatrics at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. I obtained my pediatric endocrine training at the Children's Hospital, Zurich, Switzerland, at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, and again at the Mayo Clinic. After years of basic research - initially at the Institute for Molecular Biology II, University of Zurich, Switzerland and then at the NIH as a visiting associate in the Institute for Child Health and Human Development - I returned from the ‘bench to the bedside’, and became a member of the NIDDK staff in 1999.
