Christoph Pittius

Dr. Christoph Pittius joined our laboratory in 1986 to study the hormonal regulation of mammary-specific genes using transgenic mice. Christoph came from the Max-Planck-Institute in Munich where he earned his Ph.D. in neurobiology.  While in our laboratory Christoph was funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). I n 1989 Christoph accepted a position at the American Red Cross in Rockville/Maryland where he worked on the production of human proteins (mainly proteinC) in milk of transgenic farm animals.  In 1992 Dr. Pittius went to Germany to work at Hoechst AG and a few years later returned to the US to become Partner at Ferghana Partners in New York City.  In 2002 Christoph accepted a position at Boehringer Ingelheim as Head of Pharma Discovery.  Subsequently Christoph was holding the position of Executive Director, Discovery Alliances at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, where he was heading the Discovery Alliances program.  In 2008 Christoph joined Jubilant Biosys & Chemsys, where he is Vice President Global Business Development.
